Baum
Thornley Architects are designing the Fully Alive Campus.
Bob Baum, principal of the firm specializes in taking older
structures and bringing new life to them. He and his firm
were a wonderful fit for our project. Where many saw only
an eyesore at 1406 Radio Road, Bob and his associates saw
a "diamond in the rough". Bob has been assisted
by Richard Rheume on the project.
The General Contractor on the project is Kevin Birmingham
Construction. Kevin is overseeing the restoration of the
5000 square foot Ministry Center. When the construction crews
are finished with the project, the remodeled Ministry Center
will house a new Chapel, which will become home to Fully
Alive Worship on Tuesday nights. The Ministry Center will
also become home to Kids' World, housing not only a roomy
kid's complex, but also the staffing offices for the Kids’ World
Leadership. The Ministry Center will also have both a Coffee
Bar for Tuesday nights and a Kitchen.
The Ministry Center will one day be configured to house
offices for all ministry staff. With Phase 1,the Ministry
Center will house offices for the Lead Pastor, Worship Pastor
and Management Director.
Also in Phase 1, the old KGEI Shop is being converted into
the Student Center. This facility will be a place for our
student ministry, Inside Out to call home for a few years.
The Student Center will also provide a workstation site for
each of the bi-vocational ministry staff.
The grounds of the Campus have been left barren for years.
The surviving landscaping from Far East Broadcasting's tenure
is overgrown and doesn't fit in with the landscaping patterns
found throughout Redwood Shores, or the natural beauty of
the wetlands. Carol Monday has employed a wonderful landscaping
plan. She has designed a Campus that will be green and lush,
almost "park like". Trees will be plentiful, as
will walking trails. The Campus will also center around the
Courtyard, which includes a fountain which can have it's
water heated and level adjusted to become the new home for
Fully Alive’s annual Baptism Services.
