Megan Garcia - new Kids' World Director

I came to California in December of 1993 to take a nanny position. I had actually started searching for a church before I left New Jersey, but I didn't come across Fully Alive until a few months after I had arrived in California. I stumbled across Fully Alive's website and took a chance and visited. I immediately felt at home. Fully Alive was just what I needed, being so far away from friends and family. God definitely led me to the perfect place at the perfect time. I'm also very thankful that someone from Fully Alive introduced me to my wonderful husband, Stephen.

I am very excited about my new position as Kids' World Director. When my sister, Samantha, was little, I helped her learn the verse:

"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it." Mark 10:14-15

I love this verse because it reminds me of how important children are to God and how important they should be to us. It also reminds us to encourage our children and never hinder them from learning God's word. I think this is why I am so drawn to the position of Kids' World Director, so that I can help create an environment where kids can learn and grow in Christ. I want to find teachers who love Jesus and love kids and help set little lives afire so that they can shine in their schools and neighborhoods.

I grew up in the church, but actually accepted Christ when I was in middle school. From that point on, I really understood what it meant to be a Christian. I am very thankful that I had such a wonderful Youth Pastor and church to help me learn what it meant as well as helping me become the person I am today. I will draw on these wonderful experiences as Kids' World Director.

I want to thank my mom and dad for being such wonderful influences in my life. They raised me to be who I am today. They were always there when I needed them, and I hope to be half the mom my mom is someday. Jesus has had such an impact on me. There is something missing in life when you don't look up to him completely. He helps guide me in every decision of my life.

I am so grateful for this opportunity and look forward to serving the kids of Fully Alive!
