News Flash: The wheel has been invented
We must work smart not hard.

Mike Askew. What a great guy. Mike and his wife Bonnie and their kids attended Fully Alive for few years. Mike played in the church band, MIDI guitar, and Bonnie owned a dance studio that she would allow us to use for rehearsal space. They were very giving people. One day years back we were setting up our gear a little bit different then usual and it turned out we needed something to put our speakers on. Mike, being a DJ, had some carpeted boxes that he brought from home that were perfect for putting our speakers on. As it turned out, Mike didn't use those boxes and allowed us to "hold on to them".

About a year ago, Mike and Bonnie and the kids moved out of the area and Mike left the boxes, which we now refer to as the "Askew Boxes", behind. Mike, if you are reading this, I'm sorry I didn't call you but, we've modified your boxes. Here is the story.

The boxes were about 3 or 4 feet tall and roughly 20 X 30 inches square but they had no back on them. It is just an open box that stuff would fall out of. So for the past 2 years we have been picking them up, putting them on a hand truck, rolling them out to the trailer, lifting them into the trailer, positioning them in the trailer, then carrying small stuff out of the building (plants, tool boxes, nick-knacks) and putting those small things in the boxes once it's in the trailer. What a Dope I've been!!!

So in March 2001 we went to Home Depot and bought some casters, handles, hinges and some plywood to make doors for the boxes. In short, we now call the "Askew Boxes", the "Askew Cases". We can pack them up with stuff in the community center, close the door, and then roll the whole thing out to the trailer for loading. I felt so dumb for taking so long to figure that one out.

Oh, and Mike, thanks again for the use of the boxes, er, uh, "cases". We miss you.
